Licensed Settings
The Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD) is currently licenses Adult Day Training (ADT) Programs and specialized Residential Settings that serve individuals with developmental disabilities pursuant to section 393.067, F.S. Please refer to the headings below for more information related to the licensure process for ADTs and Residential settings.
Adult Day Training
Adult Day Trainings programs provide recreational and other activities that improve social development and increase skills in daily and community living, making ADTs a vital service for our consumers. Individuals served by ADT participate in meaningful day activities that provide training and assistance with acquisition, retention, or improvement in self-help, socialization, and adaptive skills.
Residential
Residential facilities may also be referred to as group homes or foster homes and are defined as a facility providing room and board, activities of daily living, and personal care services for persons who have developmental disabilities in a home like setting.
