Sunland Center
Sunland Center is a community serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, located in Marianna, Florida. Sunland offers care and training designed to help individuals thrive in their environment. The Center is committed to advancing the meaning of care, concern, compassion, understanding, and support through hard work, quality treatment, and personalized training while also fostering a strong sense of community citizenship.
Programs and Services Highlights
Sunland Center's primary focus is to provide training and support to residents in attainment or maintenance of skills needed for daily living. These include, but not limited to:
- medical, nursing and dental care;
- nutritional and dietary services;
- occupational, physical and speech therapy; and
- psychological and behavioral services.
The Sunland Ranch
The Sunland Ranch offers vocational and therapeutic programs that promote independence, skill development, and personal growth. Residents receive hands-on training in planting, harvesting, and animal care through a structured vocational program. Periodic sales of crops and livestock provide opportunities to build customer service and basic business skills through interactions with staff and the public.
The Sunland Ranch also features a therapeutic equine program, where residents can choose to engage in grooming, walking, and horseback riding to build sensory tolerance and emotional regulation in a safe, supportive environment. Complementary activities such as wagon rides, local rodeo visits, and ranching expos enrich the experience for residents across the Center.
Dedicated to person-centered care, the Sunland Ranch fosters confidence, meaningful community engagement, and a strong connection to the natural world.
Resident Vocational Programs
The Sunland vocational program offers various opportunities for residents to learn job skills, including recycling, horticulture, carpentry, landscaping, store keeping/retail, ranch activities, car washing, printing, and custodial & janitorial services.
Additionally, through collaborations with community partners, some residents have work opportunities through local businesses, churches, and schools.

Visitation Information
Upon arrival at Sunland, the visiting vehicle must stop to provide security with the following information:
- Name
- Destination
- Purpose of visit
- Make and model of vehicle
Security will provide you with a temporary visitor pass which must be displayed on the vehicle’s dashboard to be visible through the windshield at all times during visitation. Additionally, security will also provide you with a temporary visitor ID badge to be worn at all times on the top left side of the shirt during your visit. Upon departing Sunland Center, all visitors must stop at the gate to return visitor pass and the ID badge.
Volunteer Services
Sunland is committed to the development of a strong and viable volunteer program. The creative use of volunteers can help improve public awareness and serve as a bridge between our facility and the surrounding community. Using volunteers and working in partnership with local communities, the Center is able to improve and expand services to our residents.
